I chase hurricanes, typhoons, erupting volcanoes and massive snow storms and bring you along for the ride!
Taiwan’s Typhoon Fury - 130mph Winds And 5ft Of Rain
It packed major hurricane winds that lashed Taiwan for hours and dumped over 1500mm of rain (that's almost 5ft) in the mountains. This was my first cat 3+ to shoot in HD(V) and it left me in awe of the raw power and brutality of a major tropical cyclone. Strap in and let's head deep into the core of 2008's typhoon Sinlaku.

8th November 2023 marks 10 years since super typhoon Haiyan, known locally as Yolanda, tore through the central Philippines, killing thousands. The strongest landfalling tropical cyclone ever observed and the deadliest in Philippines' history. To mark the anniversary I've re-released my eyewitness account of this historic, brutal storm. Earth Uncut TV: Face To Face With Nature's Worst
Don't think you're strong enough to resist. If you get carried out, don't panic. Eventually it will pull you far out enough to escape the rip tide and swim back in. It could be a long way. Even a few miles. But it won't kill you if you float on your back and gently tread water. Don't panic!
01:50 - also the large difference between sustained windspeed and gusts indicating the power of the system ...
That’s also due to the JMA using a ten minute average for sustained wind versus the 1 minute average that the Americans use
Cyclone remal destroyed a..... Country
As a local from cebu this was the strongest tyohoon i have seen in my entire life
Awesome content as always James. Hope you continue this style with more.
That’s the plan! Next up typhoon Saola, then Haikui then Koinu (all from last year) then probably some fresh storms to edit. Thanks for watching
😰😖😣😩😫
poor dogs 3:17
They were fine and rode out the storm safely
superb, love the retrospective format - hope there'll be many more to come
Thanks so much! Actually there will be, I’m going through my whole collection and picking out the interesting events, keeping the edits a little simpler so they’re not such hard work, and will fling them up here
I remember this, at that time watching news about hot spring hotels damaging in 廬山 (Lu Shan) (7:57) yet, we found out it was not truly rainy until aug. 2009..
I know right, the events of 2009 were insane and tragic. A really rough couple of years for Taiwan.
Damn clever trap😮 it’s finished
Thank you for this information. Heading to Hawaii next month glad I was able to see such a great example
Enjoy your trip and stay safe
I barely survived that typhoon I got serious injuries for now I'm okay
I’m sorry to hear you had such an awful experience but I hope time has healed the mental and physical trauma
Welcome to Philippines🇵🇭
So this footage was all the way back in 2013?
Correct - released (again) on the 10th anniversary
My friend's husband drowned in a RIP few years ago at Virginia beach even though. He was a good swimmer. 😢
I was in Gilbert, Cat 5, 1988, Emily, Cat 4, 2005, Isadora, Elena and so on, now I live up in the mountains, it is aweful to ride those storms 👀 I know the feeling😢
This is one of the most clearest shots of all, totally showing sheer amount of power and destruction of this typhoon nature is just beautiful and yet terrifying at the same time, you guys are one of the bravest for documenting this.
THANKS FOR INFORMING US.KEEP EDUCATING
the image at the start of the video was Hurricane Daniel of 2006
I remembered that day when typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines. It was truly terrifying watching everything unfold in real time on a TV. I live in Region III Luzon (and still is) when the typhoon was on a rampage. If I remember correctly, the storm also reached us there and classes were suspended. It kept raining nonstop for a few days which was cozy ngl. But still, when the carnage was over, seeing the buildings in Tacloban gone reduced to rubble and bodies scattered around, it was disheartening and depressing. Rest in peace to the victims of typhoon Haiyan.
i was just 1 year old when this happened but i still can describe the scary sounds i heard.
Finally… a clear example… thanks
in this particular storm nobody accounted for the storm surge just the wind, hence there was no evacuation attempt for those people living in their flimsy shanties right on the waters edge
Your accent makes this sound much more bad a** lol
❤ Thank you for posting
in 2014 the Typhoon Rammasun / Glenda is the strongest typhoon i ever felt in Cavite Province.
Example: Metro Manila, Legaspi, Albay, Cataduanes, Ilocos Sur, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Tagaytay, Cavite, Palawan.
that's July 15, 2014 in PAGASA DOST Satellites in Google Assistant.
and making it landfall in the Philippines.
Example of Visayas: Tacloban, Cebu, Bohol, Talisay City, Dumaguete and Negros Occidental.
and the last for Example of Mindanao: Cagayan De Oro, Surigao Del Sur, Butuan, Cotabato, Zamboanga, Davao and General Santos.
It’s that all people aren’t educated about storms, wind shear, barometric pressure and the tides. Schools are too busy teaching useless garbage like determining the area of a parallelogram or calculating hypotenuse. Few people ever use those skills outside a classroom. This instruction should be included in every science class. Two people just lost their lives in Florida because they didn’t know how to watch for a simple tip current!!🙁
My Mom's from Jaro, Leyte but we have a lot of relatives in Tacloban, Samar and Bicol area. We were really monitoring the news and calling our relatives at that time. Sadly 2 of our relatives was still missing up til now. They were 6 in the family and only 1 survived. It happened so fast, others stuck at their house and couldnt go out while the water was rising. They got trapped. Same with a sister from our congregation who's from tacloban too, from her personal testimony, they(her and her 2 children) also got stuck in their house and couldnt go out due to the water pressure from outside. The water was coming in, and as per her story she was really praying and asked the Lord for help as the water is fastly approaching up to their armpits that it lessened their mobility also making it more difficult for them to breath They came to the point of surrendering their life as all hopes gone at that moment, already accepting their fate cause they were really trapped and the water was rushing in, then out of nowhere they saw a drifted wood and with the little remaining strength they pushed the ceiling and make an opening, they stayed there and prayed until the storm and water subsided. It really changed their life, they left tacloban and went and stayed in Manila after that. Btw, the sister was in her late 50's then.
0:01 thays Hurricane Daniel of 2006 😂
I was just in the carribean and they had a red flag up the entire time I was there, only went into the water once and not far at all. Just heard about a couple in FL who sadly passed away. I really don’t fool with the ocean or the sea.
I just read that story right now. So sad
This was the best I have seen so far! thanks for this!
You’re welcome!
I'm from Florida and I've been caught in them at least 10 times in my 58 years. Don't panic and float. Also never enter the water where the waves aren't breaking. That's the rip!
That's good beaches 😅

Florida needs to do this.
good to know they spent 60 million to make underground cables - and works
It's crazy that a third world country's houses are strong enough to withstand those windspeed while USA houses can be blown away like a paper, if it wasn't for the insane storm surge the casualties will be low
More people should see this. You really did a great job in this terrible situation
Thank you so much for watching!

When mark got hit in the shin. if he torn hes femoral artery. It might have been game over.
It was really unpleasant but thankfully the bleeding was minimal
That gentleman telling that story and then breaking down made me cry so hard! God bless him and his family. I pray they come back stronger than ever ❤
We remain good friends to this day - he's a wonderful man and it was so nice to catch up with him and his wife again last November.

Have you ever thought about being a commentator for FIFA?
And this was only a cat 2 typhoone ?
also known in the Philippines as typhoon 'santi'
My dad is probably along with you in one of those army flights. My dad is a structural engineer and he has an ongoing project in tacloban when haiyan hit. Fortunately, he stayed in a concrete apartment soHe told me he rode an army plane to cebu.
Wow that's very unlucky timing for your dad to be in Tacloban but I'm glad he made it through the storm safely
also known in the Philippines as typhoon karen 🌀
